"Vida e Esperanca" ( Life & Hope)
Exhibition of Works by Maria Jose dos Santos Costa.
The Artist
Maria José dos Santos Costa, born in Lisbon, Portugal.
Maria’s interest and artistic talent began to show at a very young age while attending school. It was during these years and through her mother’s keen interest in art, Maria was encouraged to nurture and develop her artistic interests. Maria went on to enjoy a successful career in Marketing for ten years, but a serious accident in work last year left Maria convalescing for several months. During this recuperation period Maria had ample time to rediscover her artistic talents.
The Works
Maria is inspired by the beauty of the natural world and its surroundings, and takes great pleasure in presenting this collection of works to move your senses to a fresh place in tune with nature’s beauty.
The works on view endeavour to capture the ever changing moods of nature, thus creating a sense of mystery and presence in the paintings.
The use of light, shade and complimentary colours that evolve from the works embraces the viewer, often evoking a connection that draws the viewer repeatedly back to the paintings.
The dark colour can be truly dark so that the light colours shine out in contrast.
The artists aim is to encourage the viewer to derive a sense of peace and enjoyment from this exhibition.
This exhibition will be on view untill the end of June and open daily from 9am -5pm also during all evening performances.
